COTM march/april 2024

Case Credit- Lukasz Adamczyk (Leicester), Mollie Clark, Ali Khurram (Sheffield)

CLINICAL DETAILS

A 9-year-old female patient presented with a large bony swelling of the right body of the mandible.

Dental panoramic and CT radiology revealed a large expansile mixed density lesion involving the right angle and body of the mandible.  The lesion appeared to have both radiolucent and radiopaque areas, indicating hard tissue formation.  There was evidence of resorption of the roots of the right posterior teeth.

COTM JANUARY/February 2024

Case Credit- Mollie Clark, Hannah Walsh (Sheffield)

CLINICAL DETAILS

A 32-year-old female patient presented with a fluctuant lump in the submandibular region of the left neck. Ultrasound and MRI were suggestive of a cystic lesion or necrotic lymph node. A well-defined cystic lesion was seen in level II and the ultrasound showed a hypoechoic lesion with limited vascularity.
